Today in athletics….
Varsity Wrestling Regionals today and tomorrow at Merrell Center in Katy.
Varsity Tennis has matches today.
Sub Varsity Baseball has a scrimmage at Elkins HS. Games at 4/6pm.
Varsity Baseball has a scrimmage at home against Elkins HS. Game is at 4pm.
Softball is hosting Katy Thompkins for a scrimmage game at 430 and 545pm.
Boys’ basketball has a game against Bridgeland tomorrow at LCHS. Games 10am, 1130am and 1pm.
All students interested in taking Dual Credit Classes next school year, must attend the Dual Credit Registration meeting being held on Tuesday, February 11th in the Auditorium.
Current 10th and 11th grade students will attend the registration meeting at 6pm.
Current 9th grade students will attend the registration meeting at 7:30pm.
Information is on the TV’s around campus. Please know that this meeting is mandatory for ALL students interested in taking Dual Credit during the 2025-26 School year.
See you this Tuesday, February 11th in the LCHS Auditorium.
If you are looking for some Valentine goodies, visit VITAL in the West wing hallway during lunches on February 7th, 11th, and 13th. They have small candy bouquets for $5, large bouquets for $10, flower lollipops, hairbows and more. Cash and card payments are accepted. Go visit their table and say hi.
“It’s that time of the year again! Penny Wars!! Look for a colorful decorated bottle that says Outreach Vietnam in your 2nd period class. You can bring cash or coins; these proceeds will go to kids in need of an education in Vietnam, specifically to kids at the Anh Linh School. The class with the most proceeds by the end of February will receive a donut party!”

Your Work Base Learning Team is having a Valentines Day sale on February 13th in the front foyer across from the attendance office. They will have Jars filled with candy, candy bouquets and vases. Plus, their essential goodies. They are only taking Cash so come and support the Life Skills program and buy something for your sweetheart!

Remember that in order to build empathy (putting yourself in someone else’s shoes), we need to realize that other people have feelings, needs, and wants that are just as real and important as yours. We need to think about others and how we can help them, especially when we see that they need our help.
