As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, we commemorate the contributions of Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers Association, a pivotal figure in labor activism and the Chicano civil rights movement. Born in 1930, she co-founded the National Farm Workers Association with César Chávez in 1962, leading major labor strikes and boycotts that secured improved wages and working conditions for farm workers and significantly influenced labor laws in the U.S.



Do you like to argue? The LCHS Speech & Debate Team are hosting their second meeting on Wednesday, September 18th in room 1914 right after school. In this meeting we will be going over every speech & debate event that we compete in, so it is a great opportunity for newcomers to learn the ropes! The Senior Class Fee for the Class of 2025 will be $100 to begin with and then increase to $150. By paying the senior fee on or before September 16, 2024, your savings will be $50. If you pay the senior fee of $100, you will receive a Class of 2025 shirt, a Prom Ticket, Senior Sunrise ticket & shirt, and Senior Breakfast.

Then Lone Star College has a program for you! 

Lone Star College Leadership High School!!! 

This is a leadership development program for seeking the confidence and to realizing your leadership potential.  Students will meet monthly at Lone Star College for this program. Applications are due in SIX DAYS on September 23rd.  

If you are interested in participating, please see Mrs. Twidell or Ms. Skopal in the counselor’s office for more information. 



If you ordered a homecoming t-shirt, pick up will be held next Tuesday and Wednesday in the commons during your lunch period. You must have your student id with you in order for you to receive your shirt.

Do you like to dance and have a great time with friends?  Well, Homecoming 2024 is just around the corner.  Tickets for Happily Ever HoCo Dance will be on sale through SchoolCash September 3 – September 24.  Tickets are $25.  Get your ticket early before they sell out.
