As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, we are remembering the contributions of Cesar Chavez, inspired by his family's experiences as farm workers, co-founded the National Farm Workers Association with Dolores Huerta to fight for farm workers' rights. He remains a key civil rights leader and was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1993.


Do you like to argue? The LCHS Speech & Debate Team are hosting their second meeting on Wednesday, September 18th in room 1914 right after school. In this meeting we will be going over every speech & debate event that we compete in, so it is a great opportunity for newcomers to learn the ropes! The Senior Class Fee for the Class of 2025 will be $100 to begin with and then increase to $150. By paying the senior fee on or before September 16, 2024, your savings will be $50. If you pay the senior fee of $100, you will receive a Class of 2025 shirt, a Prom Ticket, Senior Sunrise ticket & shirt, and Senior Breakfast.

If you have any questions about the fee or 2024-2025 activities, please contact Mr. Silvey or Dr. Stephenson.

Lone Star College Leadership High School!!! 

This is a leadership development and community program for sophomores and juniors seeking the confidence, skills and abilities essential to realizing your leadership potential.  Students will meet monthly at Lone Star College to explore best leadership practices and engage in one on one discussions with community leaders.  Applications are due September 23rd.  If you are interested in participating, please see Mrs. Twidell or Ms. Skopal in the counselor’s office for more information.

Do you like to dance and have a great time with friends?  Well, Homecoming 2024 is just around the corner.  Tickets for Happily Ever HoCo Dance will be on sale through SchoolCash September 3 – September 24.  Tickets are $25.  Get your ticket early before they sell out.

Tomorrow, May 20, 2025,  seniors that are exempting every final will turn in your Chromebook and charger during English class.  Seniors that are taking finals will turn in Chromebook and charger after you have completed your exam(s).   All technology should be turned in no later than noon on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
