Over the weekend the Langham Creek Speech & Debate Team hosted their annual national championship qualifying speech & debate tournament, which included 91 schools, 500 entries and 800 total people across 9 states. Our Lobo students also competed which included Spencer Benton placing 2nd earning a bid to the national championship in current event speaking and the team of Laine Yates & Riley Emerson finishing in the quarter finals of policy debate, earning their qualification to the Texas Forensic Association State Championship! Congrats Lobos!
Last Saturday, Langham Creek Robotics competed at an Over Under robotics tournament held at Cy-Springs. Out of 40 teams present, three of OUR school robots advanced to the playoffs. LC Phantom was eliminated after a score of 170-51, while Teams Rampage & Chaos were defeated with a combined score of 116-102. Good showing, Lobos.
Their season finale is this Thursday in an all-district tournament at the Berry Center. Winners advance to the Texas state championship at the end of the month.
The Outreach Vietnam’s Penny Wars is back again. All donations will be dedicated to funding the Anh Linh School, which provides free education and housing to underprivileged children in Vietnam. Each 2nd Period class has a Penny Wars donation bottle and will compete to see which class can raise the most money. The competition runs through the month of February, and the class who donates the most will win a donut party. Donate your spare change now and get your class to a quick lead!" (End date 2/29)
Lobo Nation, on Friday your varsity boys basketball team traveled to Cy Ranch High School and got the victory 64 - 58! Congratulations to the JV & Sophomore team for also picking up the win. Tomorrow, your Lobos are back in action at home versus Cy Lakes! Tomorrow will also be our Senior Night game! Be sure to come out and support Lobo Hoops! See you in the stands!
